Earlier today in the midst of my crazy life I got a crazy idea. I was searching through my old pictures on my computer that triggered some memories of the old blog I used to have. What did I do? I found it! Seeing as Shannon and me still have a crazy passion for fashion, were still best friends, and now I'm living out my passion as a writer, I couldn't find a reason we shouldn't be posting on this blog.
Although we have changed and updated a few things around, our love and passion for style has not changed...only grown. So we're back!
and I'm excited.

OMBRE!
I finally did it! After serious contemplation and over thinking, I found a spark of spontaneousness and went to get my hair done. I didn't want anything too drastic to start with, but at the same time I thought... If I'm going to do ombre, I might as well actually do ombre. I showed my hair dresser what I believed to be the perfect picture, and we went from there!! I figured I have about 2 months left of summer and I can try it now, and touch it up for fall If I want to take it back out east with me...and if not, I go back to my natural color before then! I think it was a success, but what do you think?
SO MUCH FOIL!
Ombre in the curling iron, absolutely amazing.

Blue and Gold
Even though I am not a University of Michigan fan like shannon (GO GREEN!) I love my blue and gold together. I chose to wear this bright blue shirt along with some high waisted, light washed shorts. The shirt came up on the sides enough to show a little skin, but not too much! (less is more) I added my gold cuff bracelet, diamond studs and long double stranded gold chain to bring the outfit together for an edgy feel. I also like to compliment my colors of clothes, into my colors of makeup. I added matching blue under eye liner to my eyes, making my blue eyes stand out! Casual summer outfit, perfect for several occasions. This entire outfit is from forever 21.

Twisted sister
Here's a really easy hairstyle to try! You can do this style with straight hair or make it a little fancier with curls. Just gather a pony tail in the bag of your head, leaving a little hair in the front to pull back later, and split the pony in half, twist one side and pin it in a spiral. You can do the same to the other side creating a twisted looking knot. Then take the front pieces and pin them back in any way you like, tucking them into the bun, across it, or under it. Adding some braids also gives it an extra something. The options are endless!

Mixing Bold Colors
Summer is a great time to experiment with mixing bright colors! Don't be afraid to add a pop of color to your outfit with your jewelry, shoes, or handbags. Or try wearing two statement pieces like I did the other day with my bright blue Urban Outfitters jeans (which are so, so, comfortable) and my burnt orange/red necklace. I toned it down a bit with a plain black tank. The same with my one shoulder turquoise dress from Express (which was super on sale). I paired it with the same necklace and plain wedges. Take a look!

Sock-Bun
So..the infamous sock bun. I personally am obsessed with this look because of 1. JLo and 2. The Kardashians...easily my two favorites! Its such a clean look, and really nice for work because it keeps all of your hair out of your face. This was the first time I actually used a real sock (with the help of my partner in crime) we were able to make it look almost perfect! The sock gives the bun intense volume, which might seem a little weird at first.
1. to make the sock, you cut the end of a sock off so its more like a arm sleeve.. (the longer the sock the better so use a mid high to knee high sock) The easiest way you make the shape you want is to put the sock on your arm, and roll it down from top to bottom so the sock looks like a donut.
2. Place the sock through your pony tail, so all of the hair pokes out of the top. Leave an inch or two of your hair out at the top of the bun, and wrap it around the sock from the inside, out.
3. From here, you roll the hair around the sock bun, just focusing on one side (don't try to spread the hair evenly around the circle: this will make for failure)
4. Roll your hair all the way down so its complete. You will notice that the hair looks uneven and there should be a space in the front of the bun with no hair (so you can see the sock) From here you can use pins to put your hair right where you want it to be! Add a finishing touch of hairspray, and you're good to go! :)

Maxi-mize Your Wardrobe
One of my favorite trends right now is the maxi dress. It can be worn to so many different functions ranging from shopping to weddings, due to its versatility. My favorite maxi is white with skinny black stripes. Its sleeveless and very simple. What makes it exciting though, is the back of it is laced up with a black cord, leaving some of it open! I love when a simple dress has an intriguing back! You can wear this type of dress many different ways. You can make it more casual with a simple fedora and black sandals with minimal accessories. Or try how I wore it today with my hair in a loose messy pony and a statement necklace! Check it out!
